It is a simple surgical procedure aimed at losing excess weight and preventing obesity, thereby reducing the risks associated with severe obesity.
The surgery is a straightforward procedure where laparoscopes are inserted through small incisions in the abdomen. A portion of the stomach is then removed, resulting in the stomach taking the shape of a small tube. This significantly reduces the amount of food intake, leading to weight loss and the elimination of obesity.
The patient undergoes several medical tests to ensure they are suitable for the procedure. The patient must refrain from eating or drinking water for 12 hours before the surgery.
The patient is placed under general anesthesia to ensure they feel no pain during the procedure. Small incisions are made in the abdomen to insert the laparoscopes, and a large portion of the stomach, up to 80%, is removed using surgical techniques. The remaining portion of the stomach is then closed longitudinally, forming a tube-like shape, which helps reduce food intake and thus leads to weight loss.
